JUNGLE BAY ONLY JUST BEATEN ON LINE AT LINGFIELD

Jungle Bay put in a splendid effort at Lingfield this afternoon under jockey Martin Dwyer, finishing in 2nd place after getting in front in the home straight in a competitive looking seven furlong handicap and only just failing to hold on all the way to the line.

He was settled just behind the early leaders from the start, despite a wide draw in stall eight, and as they made the final turn Jungle Bay took a good line to get into the lead, appearing to be heading for victory when a late burst from the well-backed Multitask justtook the honours, with the third and fourth horses two lengths back.
