An encouraging third place for AMOURICE

An encouraging third place for AMOURICE

On a cold and windy afternoon at Chelmsford City we watched AMOURICE run a very respectable third.  Once again, the mighty powerhouse of Godolphin beat us although it was certainly no disgrace to come third behind an 800,000gns DUBAWI Filly.

The day did not go totally to plan.  Luke Morris our original jockey broke down in his car on the way there and due to the low weight that AMOURICE was allocated, we were limited on replacements.  However, very good Apprentice George Wood saved the day and rode AMOURICE very well.

AMOURICE, who still had her winter coat, took everything in her stride.  She wore a very distinctive white hood to block the noise out and to keep her calm.  Although it worked, it did cause much merriment on At The Races!

AMOURICE broke well and she seemed happy to go along in front with ESPADRILLE tucked in behind her.  However, she could not hold her place when the pace quickened about 2 furlongs out and she kept on well at the end to finish third behind two very good horses.
