ONALEDGE runs well to finish 7th at Sandown

At a deserted Sandown Park this evening, ONALEDGE had her second run in the very hot 4.25pm Irish EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, finishing a very creditable 7th.  ONALEDGE was only beaten by 5 length by the highly rated Charlie Appleby trained MISS JINGLES for the Godolphin team.  On paper we always knew that it was going to be a big ask but we were not disgraced and she held her own against runners from Owen Burrows, Clive Cox, Richard Hannon and Richard Fahey.

ONALEDGE looked very well in the paddock and she took the preliminaries in her stride. She went down to the start and loaded into the stalls well and she was not put off by the horse in the next stall playing up before finally being withdrawn.  ONALEDGE broke well and our jockey Jason Watson kept her in a prominent position tracking the leaders.  She kept on well and you could see at times that she was still a little green.  She will certainly come on for the experience.
